This objection is submitted in response to planning application ECU00005162 (Council Ref: 25/00307/S36), lodged by Field Rigifa Ltd for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) near Philips Mains, Mey, in the Highland Council area.

This large industrial proposal threatens the rural landscape, heritage, and community safety of Caithness. The 5.5 hectare site is elevated and highly visible, including from the iconic Castle of Mey, just 1.8km away. No justification has been provided for siting it here rather than on industrial or brownfield land.

Although the official deadline has passed for this application, we have been assured that Highland Council will accept late objections.
